Summers Goes Deep 3 Times
<Gary Summers:player#13375> was in a home run mode today at Cincinnati Grounds. The <Philadelphia:team#81> left fielder massacred Twins pitching, cracking out three home runs and going 4-5 with 4 RBIs and scoring 4 runs. But this sensational performance didn't really matter. <Cincinnati:team#73> won the ballgame 10-6 despite the three homers.

"I wish a big 'W' had come with this," he said. "It's great to hit three homers, but the bottom line is whether you win or lose."

Nonetheless, <Summers:player#13375> will now have a place in the league record book.

"I guess when you're hot, you're hot," he said. "I'm not going up there trying to hit home runs. I put the good part of the bat on it and luckily three of them went out today."

<Gary Summers:player#13375> tripled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off <Juan Domínguez:player#13533> in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off <David Nardini:player#4162> in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off <Yorikane Takahashi:player#14437> in the 9th.

So far this year in 102 games Summers is hitting .273 with 29 home runs, 74 RBIs and 69 runs scored.
